Microsoft has unveiled plans to invest roughly €622 million in Poland by June 2026, marking one of its largest commitments to expanding its cloud and AI infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe. The initiative is designed to scale up the company’s existing data center campuses and extend its suite of Azure services, thereby driving digital transformation and bolstering Poland’s global competitiveness.
Enhancing Cybersecurity and Digital Skills
In a strategic collaboration with the Polish National Defense, Microsoft will work to establish a comprehensive framework to strengthen national cybersecurity. This partnership aims to develop advanced AI competencies and leverage emerging technologies such as cloud computing and quantum to safeguard Poland’s critical digital infrastructure. Complementing this, Microsoft is committed to upskilling 1 million Polish professionals including information workers, educators, developers, and business leaders by the end of 2025, ensuring the country's workforce is ready to thrive in a digital economy.
Driving Economic Growth and Innovation
Prime Minister Donald Tusk hailed the investment as transformative for Poland’s future, emphasizing that it will provide Polish citizens with access to cutting-edge technology and new economic opportunities. The infusion of funds is expected to stimulate job creation and support local suppliers in the engineering, construction, and energy sectors, further integrating Poland into the global digital landscape. With more than 61 percent of Polish workers already using generative AI daily, Microsoft’s initiative promises to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation and enhance its competitive edge.
